Skimmed through it and nothing remotely exciting happened. Only thing that was entertaining was Truth and company stuck in the elevator. You could hear a pin drop during Shane’s celebration, and that segment went on way longer than it should’ve.

If this coming Monday is worse with no basketball, then it's over and only a miracle can save them. Not surprised at the attendance pic since the ppv still has a bunch of seats left. Where was Raw at this week tho? Doubt they suffering financially but lets see what happens when the Fox deal kicks in. Although Vince has the XFL coming which should get him more tv and ad revenue. But thats pending if it ends up like the AAF tho.

NWG can celebrate, but if WWE's dying at this point then the whole business is. AEW having 3 or 4 big shows a year packed with traveling huge wrestling fans probably won't translate to a weekly show with good attendance.

Business won't fully die without WWE, it'll just get more niche like the comic industry. Some WWE loyalists will quit watching all-together sure and but some will start watching other promotions along with people who already watch other stuff.

TV ratings can always be explained away with excuses, but there's little to argue when it comes to dwindling crowds.

I went to Smackdown Live for free, got to see Daniel Bryan wrestle in person, and I had an overwhelming sense of dread and pity that top performers came out to such shyt crowds.

Empty seats deflate.
How did you get in for free?

Those numbers count people using free trials too if I'm not mistaken. They've never given a true number for how many people paid.
I agree

But they aren’t having 2 million people in turnover each month from new (free) to paid.

Regardless of the actual number... they are making a ton on the network :yeshrug:

Oh I agree on that, just wanted to point out they were cooking the books / deceiving shareholders, who they promised a much bigger number.. But yeah, during the PPV days the providers took at least 50 percent of the cut so even a Mania that got them 1 million HD buys still amounted to over 32 million but considering SummerSlam was doing half that they get a better deal now.

AEW till be a weekly, live, travelling show. You won't have to take an airplane or plan way ahead to attend. It will be a cheaper ticket than Raw. And the fortunate part with WWE fukking up so much right now, is AEW don't even have to create fans out of nowhere, the E is giving them the chance to adopt some of their fans.

Now the ball is in AEW court, they have to deliver and provide a good show so these people who will be checking them out stay with them and they can grow momentum.
