My aunt told me a story about a live show she caught with her girls back in 96 in ATL. She said they had passes to the after party or some shyt. Said when she walked back there, it was bout 30 some women, half of em topless drinking liquor. Said them nikkas Jodeci had condom balloons and bubbles/foam all over the place

She said Devantae was the wildest. Nikka was in the bath tub with 3 women and she said the women were down with the lesbian/bi vibes on some "shorty swing my way" shyt and Vante had a chick slobbing him down while he had another chicks titty in his mouth.

7. I think Jodeci has some classic songs, but they definitely were the first male r&b group to be edgier and break away from the traditional "good-guy" image of male r&b groups like Boyz II Men, Levert, New Edition, etc...


also I'm glad nikkas didn't immediately hand out 10s cuz there will be some better groups to go above them.

7.. i listened to their singles and enjoyed a lot of it.. Production was always top notch and as a musician I always appreciated their ideas in that area. I don’t really care about imagery/branding since Im more of a ‘vocals’ guys. This is why I listen to rnb groups.. for their compositions, arrangements and vocal showmanship. Aside from KCI, yea they get a 7 from me

K-Ci maybe best frontman of the era, and JoJo coming in, dynamic duo.
Absolutely murdered that MTV Unplugged

They fukked they albums up though with all the new jack shyt, which wasn't their best shyt.
Forever first 5 songs, makes it almost perfect but after that...

Devante is a certified musical genius and his engineering of mtv uptown unplugged is evidence of that since he wrote music for Mary J. , Chris Williams, and other NJS acts...

Perfect mix of street, church, and R&B....
