I stayed there for a week for work. Not much to do outside of nature stuff. I wouldn't go back.

For some reason, like Florida is a second home destination for many New Yorkers, Arizona is a second home destination for many Chicagoans. Although I’ve primarily spent most of my time around Phoenix and Tempe, I’ve visited friends who had vacation homes in Oro Valley and Tanque Verde and had to pass through Tuscon. To say that the area is unbelievably beautiful would be an understatement. Living in an area that is essentially a desert would not have crossed mind but I see the beauty that is there. I didn’t really spend too much time in Tuscon but the surrounding area is gorgeous and would be heaven if you are into the outdoors.

SMF and LAX to VA and NC
Tucson has the same black percentage as San Francisco (5.1%). I don't like SF for a variety of reasons but I can certainly give Tucson a try given it has the sane ratio of us as SF...

I'll be in El Paso for 5 weeks and I plan on tripping to Tucson once. It's at least blacker than El Paso (3.3%)...
