fukk Charleston proper. I went there this summer for a long weekend. Great restaurants, nice downtown area and neighborhoods but......

Immediately shocked by the lack of melanin. I met someone who gave me the run down.

They essentially pushed all the black people out of the city on some extreme gentrification shyt over the last 20-30 years.
Almost all the brothers live outside of Charleston.

Now they trying to white wash the fact that they were a major port of entry for the slave trade.

Wouldn’t want to live somewhere without some presence of my people.

Looks nice in the pictures but that doesn't really tell the whole story. Seems like most of its history is based on the slave trade and it's a heavily white city. Not something that really interests me. Doesn't seem like I'll be missing out on much there.

The Chuck ain't what it use to be. They priced black people out the city. The metro area still the Chuck. North Chuck, Hollywood etc.

I’ve been to Charleston twice. Once for work and once as part of a vacation. Reminds me of Savannah, but cleaner/classier. Cool little coastal city with a lot of ADOS history (history in general). Nice architecture. White women in sundresses everywhere. Bars everywhere. Saw a lot of Gullah culture.

A lot of bad racial vibes. I got so many stories that I don’t feel like typing out on my phone right now. c00n/Uncle Tom and Bedwench Syndrome. White people expecting you to move out of their way when walking down the street or on the sidewalk. Blatant racism at bars (almost had to knock several white people out on multiple occasions).

I gave it a 9. Cool place to visit at least once. It would make a good couple’s trip. I won’t visit again, though. If I were to include the racism in my ranking, I would’ve given it a 4.
