I don't remember that being the criteria these cities were judged on. But, hey as long as you accept that royal cac London is far superior than Lagos, Accra, Dakar, Jo'burg, Narobi, and Addis Ababa put together.

Thing is I don't even see Africans and Caribbeans in their diaspora in the US calling for THEIR homelands to be open for transatlantic pan african settlement. Cuz I'll tell you right now since you mentioned Haiti-

If Nigeria opened it's nation up to Haitians immigrants completely unrestricted(which you do kinda owe them seeing as y'all sold their ancestors into chattel slavery and all) you'd have droves of people lined eager to move. I mean I've heard a lot of continental Africans here in America talk about how much they like Haitians, and how we big bad AAs are so mean to them, yet when you look at history all the way to the current time it's been us AAs who stuck our necks out and sacrificed so much for haiti going against our own government many times for them and it's people including their diaspora without receiving anything in return but contempt disrespect from them, yet I don't remember a point in haiti's centuries of history where continent Africans have actually reached out to the haitian people to help them at all.

This "friendship" between Haitians and Continent Africans just seems to limited to US to be one of convenience born out of mutual jealousy and resentment for AAs to form some black immigrant alliance, because we AAs are getting tired of the both of y'all. I don't see Nigerians in Nigeria showing any interest in cooperating with or helping Haiti or it's people. But, that's just my observation.

And yes, europeam looted your nations and the US gov and multinationals practices neo imperialism in your nations, thanks to your corrupt leaders.

That of which my people have always been the loudest against in this country even till this day, despite the fact that it has little to do with us.
The Black Alliance for Peace

WS gone WS. We all know that. Yet that stop y'all from being Pan-African? I guess we're different than y'all because that's exactly what motivated AAs to be more Pan African(until recently).
that would be an asinine move, have you seen the geopolitical structure in that country. You think that country went through multiple bouts of civil wars for shyts and giggles and as much as the notion that Africans freed slaves they also forget to tell you that just as many went out to those navy ships to go free their brothers in bondage but thats another topic yall freely glance over

again you people have a poor understanding of foreign affairs, seriously im not even sure where i would begin because this rabbit whole is DEEPER than what you think it is.

They are way too different , NY is the most international city in America , hands down

Im not saying its the best , Im just saying that places like Paris . London , New York and a few others have more in common with each other than many places in their own countries

I like both places , and I would say the debate about which is better isnt clear cut and is mostly down to preference

But the thing that London beats NY hands down no fukking debate and the main reason I live there now is black culture .....

Blacks in London have an appreciation of each others cultures that you dont find in NY

You go to a club that plays only dancehall music, there will be a lot of black people in there who arent Jamaican or from the Caribbean , and those Africans or wherever they are from are just as knowledgeable about the popcaans and the kartels as any Jamaican , you go to a Soca night and there are a lot of people into the scene that arent from Trini or Barbados
Go to an Afrobeat club and a lot of black people there wont be African .... even a few years ago when Indian music blew up , a lot of blacks were on that Diwali wave

There is definitely less separation and we appreciate anything dope regardless as to where its from

They dont have the same hangups and insecurities as Americans do , you are never going to here a black person in the UK saying they dont like Hip Hop because they cant get past the accents ....lol

If the music is from America and its dope we fukk with it, if its dope and its African we fukk with it, if its dope and its from the Caribbean we fukk with it

everyone reps their culture hard and to the fullest and it is never an issue

Yep, to add to that. We also straight up know our tribes, direct roots etc, Most of us lucky enough to have our family heirlooms, history etc, (e.g. I'm Ngoni, zambian and half bajan).

This is so true. All the black people here are connected to their mother country, and knows their culture even if their half of one or another. It's when they start to have mixed raced children that the identity starts to get lost. I have a cousin that is living proof of this. We were once all at dinner and she was complaining about her big lips when she had the thinnest lips in the room. That bullshyt you use to acclimate with your white friends to fish for compliments doesn't work round here.

Spent my college years in London. Love the city. I'm Nigerian so have a lot of fam there so I'm a bit partial to the city. Probably the best public transportation network in the world. Plus lots of accessibility to other European cities as well through Eurostar. Probably the best aspect about London is its multicultural population. You literally find people from every country on the globe there.

Culture from practically every African country evert Caribbean country plus black American culture

like I said London is the most diverse city in the world

and we arent divide and conquer , I know it may seem alien to many Americans but we are interested in each others cultures , which is why I prefer it

Sorry man, just reading through this thread but what are you basing this on? People have interest in other countries usually because they have relatives in those countries, this isn't unique to London or the UK. Not saying there aren't people who are interested in other cultures in this city but I would question you suggesting this is the norm for most people rather than the exception.

Born & raised in this city - East London to be precise. Maybe it's because I've always lived here I don't really see the hype with this city :yeshrug:. A lot of the talk here has been mostly limited to zones 1 & 2 (the centre of London). You'll see more 'real' Londoners the further out you go (black, white, Asian).

Living here is ridiculously expensive, I'm lucky that I can still live at home otherwise I'd be paying £600-700 for a room. Seriously thinking about moving out of London but the big problem with the UK is that pretty much every decent paying job is in London & if Brexit gets done I can't see that improving anytime soon.

The city is diverse but I would say mostly in terms of different Europeans you have. I work in a large company & pretty much every European nationality you can think of is represented can't say the same for other ethnicities.

When it comes to blacks from my experience the biggest groups by far are Nigerian, Ghanaian & Jamaican then there's a drop & you have Somalis other Caribbean countries, (Congo maybe?) & then another drop & you have other African countries like Zimbabwe, Kenya.

I agree with what others have said there is no real black culture in the UK, your parent's nationality is going to be the main influence. Music wise I think London treads the line between taking influences from other cultures & straight up biting. Drill music is really popular with teenagers but the artists have pretty much copied it wholesale from Chicago :russ:

Asians - Indians of course, Pakistanis, Bengalis are the biggest by far - more than blacks.

Orientals - In central London a lot of Chinese students further out not too many compared to even some other European cities - Paris in particular, although I did have a few Vietnamese friends growing up.

Latinos - I'm from East London so I don't know any at all but they seem to have a monopoly on commercial cleaners because that's the only time I've interacted with them (except one Dominican guy who was a Data Scientist).

I think London is probably a 10/10 city if you're visiting but unless you work in a high paying job I have to rate the city as a 5 in terms of liveability. If I could be paid the same salary but live in another UK city like Manchester or Birmingham I think I would have a far better standard of living.
