for blacks there are very few cities In USA great for them based on our economic struggles cause of racism and white supremacy.

that doesn't negate Frisco a great city
at least the old version was.

Sacramento there nothing to do In sac

sf 100 times better than sac

people don't have fun here

This was true until the tech boom . Not so much now. But I'll wait until Sacramento gets featured on here to explain more.

Growing up, I used to LOVE San Francisco. It's still a great city to visit but to live and work? :mjlol:

It never had much of a black history to be proud of . Oakland on the other hand is the mecca for African Americans in CA. Dont let the :mjpls: media fool you otherwise.

The tech industry made San Francisco unbearable at times. Downtown is mostly financial so it's a ghost town after 5pm weekdays and the weekends.

The homeless people :mjtf:

Every other block Downtown smells like shyt

A friend of mine got a job making $100k right after college and he shares an APT :unimpressed:

The new sports district, Marina, Ocean Beach , Golden Gate Park ,Folsom Street Fair , eating and shopping are still worth the trip and the new Mayor London Breed actually cares about the city though . As well as Chinatown :ehh: The gay community is not as bad as people make it out to be .
Also a great city if you wanna stay fit .

I'll give it a 7/10

I'm from Sac. Born and raised. My parents are from Oakland though.

Brehs over there let the legendary Filmo district turn into Filmore like a mf. Even 4th ward Houston ain't that bad.

:snoop:

For black people Sac is the new Bay at this point.

Don't seem like a place I want to be in longer than a day (i.e. long enough to say I've been).

As much as I say I don’t like going to SF I always enjoy myself when I do. Chillin at D-LO when it’s mid 70’s weather drinking, smoking and eating. Chill vibes every time I’m there.

After visiting a lot more, this city overall is quite mid. The best parts about it are the geography (very uniques with the steep hills), weather (it’s generally temperate and comfortable year round), and the scenery. Outside that, idk.

As an East coaster, the density of the city is similar to Manhattan and it’s pretty cosmopolitan.

If you like Chinese food then this place probably has the best in the country outside NYC.

But the demographics aren’t in the favour of brehs. If you aren’t Oyinbo (white), chinco (Chinese / Asian) or an amigo (Mexican) then idk what to tell you .

The city is weird but with no boundaries. One thing I love about NYC is there’s a little something for everyone.

The fake liberals also need to take a damn break. People just be looking for a reason to get offended. I remember this one argument I overhead in Chinatown about some dude who called what looked like a man a sir. The “sir” got into this thing about misgendering people yadi yadi ya.

Nightlife is also garbage. I understand physical looks don’t dominate this city as much as LA, NYC, ATL or MIA but man, people can dress quite slovenly. DC ain’t the fashion capital of the world but at least folks knew when to get dressed up for an event.

It seems like a 10-20 yrs ago the city was a bit more balanced. But honestly, from what I’ve seen, I’m not sure how much higher the ceiling could have been.

I just feel if you’re not who this city is for, then don’t bother.

From what I heard San Francisco is not really that flamboyantly gay as Atlanta.

Yea. I never noticed any flamboyant types. At most I just saw dudes or girls very cozy in manner that let you know they weren’t pitching straight.

Ain't nothing East Coast about San Fran lmao. East Coasters feel comfortable there because it is compact but nothing characteristically about its culture is East Coast---->its California thru and thru, believe that...

Very much so.

Is it as gentrified as DC, or are they about the same?

Not even close. I think Blacks are less than 5% of the SF population (like 870K SF population or say) whereas DC it’s well over 40% (over 700K total in the city). More importantly, there’s a very well to do black population on the outskirts of DC (PG County). I think that’s one thing about SF and the Bay I’m not a fan of. Black folks out here aren’t doing as well as back in DC/DMV.

Also, blacks don’t have as much history in SF as the Chinese or Mexicans. Chinese have been here since the 19th century and Cali used to be part of Mexico at one point in time hence all the “San” and “Los” in city/town names.

I visited San Francisco and Oakland last summer.

San Francisco: 9.5 it reminds of Manhattan on the west coast with a bunch of hills. The food in San Francisco is great, transportation is reliable unlike Los Angeles, hella stuff to look at. One of my favorite cities I've ever been to.

Oakland: 5. It's basically Detroit on the West coast. Trash everywhere, some cool hip hop murals "2pac, The Jacka, Mac Dre ect" but nothing much else to look at. A random guy walked up to me and told me to stop walking around with my headphones on so I wouldn't get robbed.
