Bardock is a cool character, he's essentially a 90's anti hero type of guy. Solid story but not my favorite, top 10 dbz movie for sure. 8/10

9/10. Simple yet impactful and meaningful. So see Bardock fight with all his heart even against all odds is inspiring and Goku inherited that.

The dub is one of Funimation's absolute worst but the Japanese version is an easy 10/10

Toriyama even said it was a story he was incapable of making. He loved it so much he made Bardock canon with a nod in the manga (but then changed the whole story 20 years later )

cause they took out Solid State Scouter song for some generic rock trash

and too much noise at points where it shouldve been silent killed all the tension. The Japanese version felt close to a DBZ horror movie

The script and voice acting were garbage in the dub too. They rewrote Bardock to make him seem like he was trying to have a redemption story when in the Japanese version he's just a goon who's riding for his people. Changed the names for no reason too.
