The main character isn't the main character. Takes a backseat to the person whose character arc is pretty trash and is just bland, uninteresting, and a complete Mary Sue.
The likeable characters get killed off. Action is pretty good, but it doesn't make up for a lot of mis-steps imo.

I hated this shyt. 4/10. Didn't like where the anime was going and from what a homie told me what happens in the manga...

Just of note. A lot of these later animes (2010-now) are starting to creep up the leaderboard. While I’m not sure if they can crack the top 10 they are really moving up the 10-20 range ( prison school, mob psycho, Vinland saga, HXH, etc)
They not gonna break that Top 10. Real solid top 10 with actual quality.
Also I suggest Kill La Kill. Same creator as Guren Lagann

I'm rating the manga. It's an 8. It's enjoyable.
7. I like when a show isn't scared to kill off main characters. The romance between ol boy and what's his girl was forced IMO. It's something I'd watch again.
