Are there any actual supernatural things in this show?
the best character being gone is the biggest issue in s2 - the pacing is just not the same without him
yeah, sorta. low fantasy setting
It's slow at times (how many scenes do we need of Thorfinn reflecting on his past?), but it's a solid 8.
My only real complaint is that for all anti-violence themes they try to emphasize, the fights are portrayed in such a cool or stylish way. Glorying it, in my opinion, and that would obviously go against the message of the show. I feel like they could've made the fights more barbaric, and ugly.
It's also shounen-esque at times, which is off-putting in a show that's trying to be grittier, more real, than other anime. One example that comes to mind is when Thorfinn is being slashed by Fox, and he doesn't react, saying he doesn't fear death, or something like that. It's fine to think that, but that doesn't make you immune to feeling pain. He didn't even react when part of his ear was cut off. I'd expect to see some goofy shyt like that in a Shounen Jump title, not Vinland Saga.
Minor complaints, though. The show is fukking great.

But like most Anime’s, second season has been complete trash to me.
All this slow piano playing monologues, nikkas cutting down trees, Thorifinn pussified, etc.
Like someone else said above too, pace is absolutely trash. Then to release this shyt weekly and without subtitles… I’ve stopped watching it like 3 times already

I bushed this but tried to come back (especially when the dubbed drop)
This second season is so trash that it point, I’m just skipping through the dialogue.

I’m sorry for my earlier point but this pace and storytelling becomes amazing as the season goes on.
I voted season 2 as anime of the year. It was a beautiful season

Nah bruh, shyt was a disappointment compared to the first season
I guess maybe he was trying to be more like his pops in the 2nd season, but that getting smacked 100 times and all that crying shyt… bushed
But this is usually my issue with Anime. One classic season then it falls off the deep end or doesn’t even have a season. Like these asian dudes literally jump ship after one good season.
Dude went from a child soldier to ghandi.. which I have no issue with but there’s zero action in the second season damn near. I guess thats why I liked shyt like Beserk or Baki.. even One Punch Man
