It's a 10 for me. Recreated the feeling
First of all it's one of the most original Shonen out there. We know traditional adventure in and out; aight, you're a lil dude who is going to travel the world and wants to be the best XYZ and/or search for the ABC while fighting people stronger and stronger and make friends along the way.
But a breh trapped like a rat in a fukking medieval town while the world is filled with giant human killers?
The synopsis alone makes it stand out.
Grabs you instantly and doesn't let go. Each episode makes shyt progress. Pacing is fire.
And the show manages to create a feeling of tension that I haven't felt for a long time. Brehs die for real left and right. You can really feel how fukking desperate some situations are. Same with emotional scenes, they hit. Eren's mom dying-> hit, Eren transforming into a Titan to fight Annie -> hit, Rainer & my other man reveal - > hit. When I heard that someone bodied the two captured titans, I was like oh shyt
it's not just on some humans vs titans shyt, it's way more complex. Same when you understand that the female titan is a human and you see her transform with the hoodie on and starting chasing them in the forest
Rainer casually saying to Eren "yeah breh remember when I broke that fukking wall running 100 miles per hour 5 years ago?
". Face went through the whole range
Erwin is
that breh when he got caught by the arm riding the horse and was like
"
GO AHEAD!!"
The feeling of mystery/conspiracy is also pretty well done and keeps you on your tippy toes so far.
Same with the background commentary of the horror of war and the trauma weighing on soldiers.
Didn't get into season 3 yet but this is very very solid. Nothing bad to say about it. 10.
