8 - This show is pure style over substance and that's the only reason it gets that rating, it could have been a 7 except for some mitigating factors, the art work is good the animation is smooth (as to be expected from the 3 studios involved) however the characterization falls fukking flat which is a shame, as there are some good characters human & supernatural that could have done with some development in fact there is an interesting world here that we never really get to see or explore.
The voice acting is a saving grace all the VA's are really enjoying themselves here, it's wonderfully over the top in places kinda like an 80's action movie, set pieces get wilder and wilder as the series goes on (one is eerily reminiscent of Assault on Precinct 13) the fight between Alucard and the Valentine Brothers is a personal fave.
The music is great very atmospheric and bombastic as to be expected from Hayato Matsuo no complaints here, this show should have been so much better though, as it sought to correct the deviations that Gonzo did with Hellsing TV story wise but still managed to fumble the ball inexplicably, they had 50 mins per episode to do this and yet it always felt like you was just waiting for the next set piece, shame really.

This shyt went crazy - it makes me keep hope alive for a full and proper Berserk adaptation one day (

They didn't hold back with Alucard aka Vlad's childhood trauma
. They can edit out some of the extra . We can experience the story without it being gratuitous
