Read the og manga before the anime came out and was surprised how accurate to the source material they were.
Anyways, I loved the animation, how dark and grimey the anime got. It reminded me of the old school joints like demon city.
10 out of 10 imo I wish we got more anime like this nowadays.

Story is kind of a clusterfukk but the animation is insane and disturbing and worth at least a watch.

This was my first experience with the Devilman series. I heard it influenced Berserk and Evangelion, so it was cool to see the origin for some of my favorite concepts in anime
I don't remember much of anything about the actual substance of DC. How the themes were communicated, character motives, conflict resolutions. Not a good thing when it aired just year ago and obviously wants us to take it seriously. What I do remember is the animation style being very expressive complimenting all of the gore/sexual content. DC pushes a lot of boundaries that TV anime are scared to cross.
I'll give a 6, maybe bordering on a 7. Positives being the visuals being cool, having no filter, and the feeling of watching the inspiration for other dark anime to come after it. Negatives being the writing, ten episodes not being enough to fully explore the concept, that shock and awe feeling wearing off the more you actually think about what happened.
