How does the Gundam series even work? I’ve always wondered this even back in the day....It’s so many Gundam shows, I don’t even know which are canon, which are spinoffs, which are off-shoots, which are reboots, etc. That whole franchise is as convoluted as Kingdom Hearts at this point

It’s no where near Kingdom hearts level of crazy stupid. That’s an insult breh


There is only one “main” timeline and that is the UC timeline.

Usually the older ones are part of this.

0079, 0083, 8th MS team, Zeta, Zz, Char’s counter attack etc.

Everything else is stand alone and you don’t need to watch those in any order.

They are all canon because there’s no “main” series. They are all pretty much standalone.
They always set in a alternate future from ours where military mechs are common place.

the Gundams are always specialized combat mechs made with “Gundamian alloy” which makes them stronger and faster than all the regular mechs.
