Rate this anime day 150: Super Dimension Fortress Macross

I haven't seen the original Macross SDF yet so I don't really have a complete opinion of the franchise, but I liked Plus and DYRL so much that I'm giving it a 10 off principle. I mean it has to be great if the derivatives are so good. Those two differed from just about anything in Gundam in placing a ton of focus on the relationships and internal conflict of the main characters. You get to know what makes the person behind the robot tick as well as the people not directly involved in fighting. Music is given tangible meaning as it's used as a way to unite people of different backgrounds, cultures, species, and even at one point is weaponized. I'm generally a fan of shows that gives you a reason to care about the people in the story as it makes their eventual triumphs all the more meaningful.

This song by Lynn is that. In isolation its whatever, would never check for it. But knowing the context of the moment and everything riding on the performance, goosebumps




Macross Plus has a top five soundtrack in anime and it's not really debatable. Type of OST that'll stick with you forever. One of several Yoko Konno classics.

The twist with Minmay I HATED her for most of the series at the end she ended up being my fav character




Macross II has the best soundtrack and characters even tho its not that good....I had to mention it

Yesterday’s results:

Kenichi the Mightiest Disciple: 8.19

For day 149 of our series the coli posters felt Kenichi the Mightiest Disciple was the epitome of almost close but not there yet giving it a high level jump kick score of 8.19. The main contention with Kenichi was the fact it didn’t finish its best arc. And unfortunately that’s what did it in.
