CD arrived today. About 3/4's through it in the truck. Another schizophrenic production affair that can't decide on a sound. Pick a lane Rassy.

The Bun B song is fantastically trash.

Krs killed his spot though. That was enjoyable.

Let me guess
The dope parts : KRS verse, O.C, Torae, Sean P, Bumpy Knuckles and possibly :troll: NYX

The wack part : the rest

:salute:

Haven't made it to OC & Torae. The Sean P song has a marginal beat. Ras stays with jolting production fam. Like don't jerk me around from song to song stylistically. That's why Blasphemy worked so well and Soul On Ice is what it is. Congruency.

Oh and I parked the truck as the Bumpy/Onyx song was on. It's trash and I haven't even made it to Onyx's part yet. I borderline hate Onyx btw.

The change in prod. Styles is a legit gripe, what songs are dope in your opinion ? But at least finish the album first and maybe spin it again

I'd probably take this over Blasphemy at this point, I fukk with it but There's 3 songs on Blasphemy worse than anything on the whole DELUXE version and it's half the length, already talked about the 9th esque drums and borderline played out samples

Now that I think of it you could also say that the best tracks on Blasphemy would be amongst the best here
So Diffirent Strokes, That DE LA album was underwhelming / borderline garbage imo and a few loved it in that thread, I might give it another chance down the line

I can't recall any songs that jumped out at me besides the Krs & Nigsneyland. I just got a very cheap production vibe from it. The DJ Lethal beat was trash. The Bun B song is so terrible & that Kanye moment song is awful. The first song where he describes his career was interesting but I can take or leave the beat. Was cool to hear the Pharcyde story though.

Best thing about the Sean P joint was him talking in the beginning.

I don't know man. I'm a stickler for good beats and even though Apollo Brown is a cut rate 9th Wonder/Bronze Nazareth his shyt blows a lot of what I've heard here out the water.

Still have the final stretch of the album to go though.

@Big Mel That first sentence is confusing cause I fukk with Nigsneyland (Hood on ice) but those drums are the definition of cheap production, can't say that about too many tracks here but that DJ Lethal track is definitely one of the weakest beats and I still don't skip it. out of that 1st half Bishop wasn't a standout ?

Still giving an album a FULL and thorough listen before trashing or praising it is a must otherwise it comes of overly cynical or biased.

You got some valid critiques but get back to us after that 2nd spin, O.C verse is fire btw

Oh I didn't mean I liked Nigsneyland. Lol. It just stood out because of that chorus. Those drums are very, very cheap indeed. I think I did like Bishop but I can't even remember what it sounds like.

Did ya get the Deluxe or standard version ?

Gotta say I fukked with a lot of tracks off 1st listen (as did many in here) not many "this might grow on me" moments so maybe it just ain't hitting for you

Peace

I ordered the cd from his bandcamp. 22 tracks. Statik Selektah laced him. This Teedra Moses song has a pleasant vibe but kinda schmaltzy too. The Killah Priest song was alright. Afro song is whatever.

I'm looking at the names of these producers and it's so bootleg. Neff Beatz? DJ Kingflow? Synesthetic Nation? Frederic Csik Lopez?

I'll never understand why vets with loyal fan bases utilize wack producers.

See that means nothing to me, I went off the beats not the names and had no idea who produced what for the 1st maybe 5 spins. My version didn't have the KP track but I heard it and wasn't too impressed.

Already said here that Afro is by far the worst feature on some "putting words together just to rhyme" steez
Also said the statik joint while nice is prob the most generic on this LP .
I liked the teedra Moses too track for the feel good vibe and I for sure thought you'd find it repulsive
You :troll: ?

You love you some Ras Kass huh? Lol. Album is pretty marginal. The Apollo song was...different. I really have no urge to ever play this again but I'll do a second spin arter I cleanse my pallet with the Reks album. And is it me or has Rassy's voice gotten roachier lately?

I fukk with this album, only played one track(more than once) off Breakfast at banksys

See I remembered to check for that Reks off the strength of the Final Four line-up, album was bland as hell
The prod line up looks great on paper but that LP actually had a lot of production I found cheap
But I ain't writing it off just yet

Word? Couldn't disagree more. See he actually got beats from cats I'd never heard of before that were fire. There's 4 or 5 trappy/modern tracks I don't care for but the rest really enjoy. And yeah that Banky's album was too left field for my liking.

Lol at anyone caring what racist troll @Big Mel thinks, normally a good thing anything that fraudulent dikkhead don't like.

What's funny ? 'Troll' is a cop out, behind the "trolling" is usually an agenda or bias - racial/regional/standom or a combination of the 3, In album threads it usually boils down to " rapper X dropped an album I loooove, why isn't it getting this love/attention it's realllly Good guuuuuys :mjcry:" accompanied by shytting and a shameless plug

Don't know about the racist shyt (white supremacists have a grudge with Rassy since Soul on ice, it's expected) but don't you have hours on hours of going back and forth with "trolls" about k-rino ?
