Ok this album is INSANE,I didn't wanna go too far off 1st listen but now I'm on my 5th spin (could be more)
First of all no one is spitting this type of content on this level AT ALL right now (especially the topic of Industry bullshyt), it's rare nowadays that it takes me this much time to get to the next track cause I keep rewinding the shyt and though Rassy has always been witty it's mostly the content and rawness of the lyrics that get me.
The first track Ras tell his story and is talking that PAID DUES shyt, referencing legends/ peers in the game who he came up with, this is a reoccurring theme on the LP (some stories are expanded on later on the LP, big pun for instance)
The stories and guests on this are like a stamp (from KRS, RZA, Pun, Sean P, OC, Bun B etc etc) on Rassys Hip hop passport, Still not sure who produced what yet.
All the guests here brought their A game ,
dropped one of his best verses in years imo but still ras is killing everything in sight here, he's not gonna get murdered on his own shyt on this album at all
The few tracks that threw me off at first actually make perfect sense in the album, shyt like Kanye moment or the hook to "hood on ice" (nigsneyland) which is dope as fukk. there's over 20 DOPE tracks here, I was shocked that an album this long was so consistent, shyt is full of quotables and nothing here is flat out wack to me.
What I haven't really seen addressed is that even on Blasphemy he actually improved in certain aspects of emceeing, to make it short he basically learned to edit his lyrics make shyt more concise and (arguably) flow better, this LP is no different and even better is how he's now also putting the feeling/emotion behind the lyrics, a good example is the 2nd verse of "
Trade Places" especially The last few lines.
Really respect the homage to Sean P R.I.P throughout this album too
Fav tracks: Too many to name, will see as time goes by
