you can send a text to 911 as an emergency. they say that calling is the best option. But you can send a text message to 911. I'm thinking why wouldn't they send a text to 911 and then text whoever they were trying to reach but my basic instinct would be to text 911 direct first bc they have the capability to receive emergency texts.
