Nah, they were

I remember we used to argue on who was the greatest, biggie, Jay-Z, or Nas. And no, I’m not saying cause the song said it, we really used to argue like that
They wasn’t called legends arguing over who the best is in a point in time don’t make you a legend

At the same token there was mfs back then who could give a fukk about them

Biggie became a legend after his death where his impact was seen in retrospect and how special he was, was magnified

Sounds like you’re a brick wall

Nothing to prove here

No. I am a grown man. I don’t like his music and don’t get the appeal. Doesn’t change the fact his death was unfortunate. I was just looking for someone to explain him being a legend and y’all failed to do so. Now, don’t get me wrong, you can love and appreciate his music all day and night, but you have to realize you don’t have to make somebody some mythical figure because you like the music and he has some “cool” dance.

Nah, they were seen as legends cause they brought the east coast back, specifically nas, and biggie

Y’all don’t understand how big that was. Before them the east wasn’t making noise except locally. That is bad when hip hop came from the nyc. Those three mc’s brought pride back into the city, at an important time

And all legends will have people who don’t see them as legends, that doesn’t take away from a large amount who do see them as legends

He was on the come up but to say he was influential is not really true.
I’m hearing nikkas sound like him already with the voice, and everything

CJ is biting his music style, and got a hit cause of it. He just released a new song trying to do it again

Pops good man I respect your opinion but he wasn’t trash. as weird as this sounds, he just made good “vibes” and street music and his voice just grabbed your attention like a Guru from Gangstarr. I think Sheff G makes slightly better music than he did RIGHT NOW but Sheff was rapping before him and had time to master his craft.

I feel people give him that legend status simply for what he did for the whole bk drill and the Brooklyn scene in general, he really was about to become the king of New York. Now in terms of a hip hop legend in our genre as a whole? Idk it’s up for debate but he is definitely a New York legend.

@big bun @$cam-U-Well_Jack$on This my 2 cents

I feel like over the years the whole "legend status" term has kinda been ran into the ground honestly. Sorta like "GOAT". It's kind of become an internet term/just a label to indicate you like an artist. But my thing is this

All this shyt is subjective at the end of the day. I'm not the biggest JuiceWrld fan, he makes dope shyt from what I've heard but I've maybe only heard 2 albums and the major hits but I can't tell you his entire discography, he's not targeting me with his music, or rather he wasn't. But if some 16 year old kid wants to call him a legend how am I to disagree or refute ? Now he may not be a legend to me cause that's not what I bump but this shyt is a matter of opinion at the end of the day.

That being said though with Pop, he was huge, like outta here. He had cosigns from the greats, he brought that 03 50 Cent energy, it was really a force that the game hadn't seen in a while and the the game is never gonna forget.

Yea I agree with the untimely death of an artist people tend to push them a couple notches higher in history and yea it's a bit of that happening but I feel like it's at least warranted in this case. He was on his way to mega stardom

Basically

Lmfaooooo

I don’t like him so he can’t be a legend ass nikka

I said I don’t like his music...not my cup of tea. I don’t like a few people’s music like that, but can’t deny their legendary status. Pop Smoke, not so much...

Still no legitimate reasons from anyone on why he is a legend...

RIP to son but y’all ain’t gotta do all that dikkriding
Industry/culture so embarrassing, every time a nikka die everybody get they saddles ready to hop on some penis
Pretty much ushered in a whole, new, fresh sound to a stale NYC soundscape. People weren't really fukking with the UK drill beats like that before him.
NY nikkas was rapping on UK drill beats years before Pop started rapping
