This post is a textbook example of our (assuming u are black too) problem . You acknowledge TWICE that it has an affect yet we're so effectively conditioned to just "accept" things that you ultimately let it slide because "oh well, they'll do those things anyway". Thats your excuse and not a good one. We have 2 random posters in this very thread who's admitted to drug use as a direct result of the influence of rap. Do u think that out of the millions and millions of youth GLOBALLY who are influenced by hiphop culture, that they are the only 2? No, people aren't gonna stop using drugs if rap disappeared today, but the constant dismissal of the influence of rap culture and the enabling of these rappers to spew ignorant poison is dangerous. This is deeper than rap tho. This mindset that we're in is a direct result of 500+ years of mental conditioning. The black race is the only race on planet Earth to sing and dance to music that promotes its own genocide. Yes GENOCIDE!!!!! Everything these rappers promote (killing of ones own race, extreme materialism, promiscuity, gang/prison lifestyle,etc) will lead to the destruction and downfall of any group if practiced. We are so brainwashed as a people that we call this self-destructive music "just entertainment". This music is making living a destructive lifestyle seem "cool". Thats the main affect thats going on. Yall can throw out the "parents should do better" argument, but current rap culture makes it that much harder. And besides, the prison industrial complex exists. They aren't going after the kids with stable households and good parenting, they're going after the weak-minded kids from broken homes with little to no guidance. THOSE are the kids that they are hoping to occupy a prison cell in the future.
