Rapper Chinx Drugz got killed last night in NY (R.I.P)

I don't have much emotional connection to Chinx or his music, but I wanted to say that this isn't a 'stay out the issue' in my eyes....If he was in a grimy ass club, or after hours spot, at 5:00 AM, maybe I'd feel differently, but often times people come up with these cautionary narratives to reassure themselves it won't happen to them in some respects, and reinforce the narrative that you have to cut off where you come from, which may or may not be true....dude was driving his car, albeit a flashy Panamera through a neighborhood. Just a neighborhood. He didn't bring this on himself by not staying out of the hood, physically....However, it remains unseen whether some action of his resulted in this, I am not blaming the victim...I feel that is what they 'stay out the hood' crowd is saying. I had a friend, not my closest or best, but a friend killed in similar circumstances....not just a car to car shooting, but a close parallel..... And, I can't say he deserved to die. But, who he ran with, and what he was doing, his actions....had a lot more to do with what happened, then where it went down. I don't believe someone did this out of in the moment anger or jealousy, but someone who in their minds, had a legit reason.

I never even heard of Briarwood prior to my friend moving there but I usually see a lot of black and Spanish people in the Bodega right up the block from where chinx was killed
