That's fair. I just think what people consider "corny" or not is shaped by the broader culture...90%+ of people aren't going to do anything but follow whatever trends are dominant at the moment.
Rather than demand that people do something that they're generally unable to (go against the grain), I'd rather focus on changing things upstream so there isn't a poisonous culture to begin with...
