To think, even with all the injuries, the only reason they wouldn't win 70 games this season is 1) nothing left to play for and 2) that blown 20-point 4th qtr lead vs MIN.

They're a lottery team without him.

The problem with your logic using their 4-6 record without him is, they're essentially one-off games, where they can play with max effort and catch teams who're being complacent. We see it all the time around the league when a team has 1-2 stars out and they cause an upset because they collectively step up in absence of the star(s) and catch the opposition lacking, who often don't treat them seriously.

It's another thing altogether to actually play night-in, night-out without your star player when you can't just rely on playing at max effort all the time.

I made this post prior to this game -

Over the last three games without Jokic, Denver's defense has ranked:

#22nd in defensive rating
#25th in giving up fast-break points
#27th in contested shots
#28th in giving up drives into the paint

Last of all, and most certainly the most telling of all -

#30th in giving up points in the paint.

Here Denver has gone over this recent stretch (without Jokic) giving up more points in the paint than any other team. Go figure.

Which proves that whatever defensive deficiencies the team has clearly are more widespread than you trying to attribute them to Jokic. You wanna blame him for his lack of rim protection, but they were giving up more points in the paint than any other team when he wasn't playing.

Your agenda against Jokic started well before this season, you're not about to play this shyt.

It seems like you're cherry-picking a few voices you've heard on Twitter and then using it for your agenda.

The point behind highlighting the difference between Jokic on/off the floor and translating it to wins is to show how poor the team is without him. You're not supposed to take it in a literal sense as if they'd only win 17 games, just that they'd be a considerably worse team than OKC would be without Shai. I don't know how anyone could argue against that.

What I really want to know is why you feel the need to constantly downplay the best player in the game, who's playing at a historical level. That should be acknowledged and celebrated. It's bizarre to me that anyone that likes hoops would do the opposite to that. That doesn't mean you have to praise him at every turn, but you're out here taking every single opportunity that you can twist into shytting on him.

Why is that?
