We went from just missing the play-ins last year/virtual tie, to being 28-14 on a 55-win pace. Ime is overachieving right now.

However, the lowkey problem that comes with that is the heightened/overly ambitious expectations that follow.

Put it this way: if we sustain this pace and win 50+ games and maybe go 7 games in round 1 before succumbing to inexperience… what would the expectations be for next year? Anything less than a top 4 seed would be perceived as a regression. Anything less than a semifinal birth is a disappointment.

But without a superstar and in the Western Conference, success is a bit more volatile. Even with stars, we’ve seen the volatility last few years with Dallas, Memphis and Sacramento.
