Their defense is still good but they haven't had the same edge we saw in previous seasons

I'm not sure when's the last time they had a good 3-pt shooting night, we've got a few players slumping at the same time. White been shooting like shyt over the past month, Jrue has regressed this season in general, Pritchard been off lately. Brown will have these explosions for a few minutes then drift the rest of the game. The advanced metrics say they're fine, watching them doesn't feel like it.

But it's a long season and I'd much rather them play their worst basketball in December/January than April/May

I mentioned it before, but I think the loss of Charles Lee on the coaching staff is really showing
He is a great defensive mind, one of the best in the league. He was the key reason the Milwaukee Bucks had an elite defense in the year they won the championship, and did the same thing for the Celtics

Hate for this to be a bash Joe Mazzulla session, but you can see this year the Celtics are very confused on their defensive identity. One stretch it's that they want to defend the 3, then they want to pack the paint, then they want to just run zone, etc. Then it just turns into the opposing teams getting BOTH 3 point shots and easy shots at the rim :francis: . Pelicans got WHATEVER they wanted in this game. Joe is a great mind on offense, but sometimes looks very confused on defense. When Charles Lee got that Hornets job, I immediately was pissed cause I knew this might happen. He benefits the Celtics more than he does with the Hornets IMO
