i was one of the biggest reed sheppard stans through the draft and the first thing you can't ignore with him now that regular season has started is that he is small.I'm just saying in some cases (maybe in a lot of cases) there's politics at play. Chicago is a prime example. Pat has lost his starting spot in previous years multiple times to journey men NBA talent despite them being heavily invested in him.
Now they have a prospect that plays the same position who they could give minutes to. Matas has looked solid in SL and in the Pre-Season, if he were to get minutes at the 4, none of the fanbase would call it to question.
But it's hard to crack in a rotation when you have all of that going on AND there are other more NBA ready players going hard for minutes.
Reed Sheppard isn't going to get consistent minutes in Houston because of their depth chart, that's not to say he's a bum. There are plenty of guys like that in similar situations.
Edey isn't getting his once in a generation college whistle anymore. cody williams and ron holland get on the court and do nothing but cardio. sarr is proving the haters right by shooting 5 3's a night. hell, the biggest reason why yves is getting the minutes and opportunities he's getting is because he can set a screen and stay on the court.
these guys are playing almost exactly as advertised. its not a sudden plot twist of politics and ulterior motives. the minute castle learns how to play without turning the ball over, when dalton figures out how to add value on the floor without shooting, etc - they'll get more minutes. because that's normal.
