It’s literally just the Best First Time All Star award now
Started with Ja, but with him his ppg went up by like 7. Coby improved in every category and had a 10 point scoring increase compared to Maxey's 5.

Cade's assists are up and his scoring is up 3ppg, but considering how terrible Detroit was last year, I'll allow it. Just a year ago, Detroit was questioning if he was "the guy" for them moving forward.

MIP Award isn't what it used to be tho. I think they want to use it to market stars more IMO. Only way you're getting it without being a well known name is going crazy like Lauri did a few years ago.

for most of the season the thunder have been just below +1 in net rating when shai is off the floor. that rating has risen to +5.2. it may be skewed a bit by the thunder blowing out portland and philly by a combined 51pts when shai sat out this month, but its getting harder to doubt this okc team even with their relative youth.

Teams that win this much in the Regular season usually win the title. There are exceptions like the 73 win Warriors or that Dirk team that got upset by GS

but I feel some people are skeptical because OKC is still young and they haven't done it before, but we could just be seeing natural progression towards a champion :manny:

YR1 24 wins lottery
YR 2 40 wins No playoffs
YR 3 57 wins 1 seed lost to West Champions
YR 4 60+ wins

What's funny is... half the west playoff/in teams are heavily flawed assembles relying on relics from the 2010s (most on the wrong side of 35) to carry a buncha unproven create-a-player vagabonds... yet aside from Denver it's this collective half with their selective experience that the skeptics feel will have the edge over OKC.

I don't buy it. But I do wonder if in the event OKC walks through all of them, whether the narrative will change from they don't got the experience to well the West was weak with a buncha old guys.

So basically (more than likely)

1st round
3. New York/ 6.Milwaukee
4. Indiana/ 5.Detroit

The latter will be the "NBA TV" series but may probably be the most underrated/fukkery-filled

the grizzlies are in real danger of falling into the play-in. a lot of ppl were critical of them not making a win now move at the deadline. at the time i didnt agree because i wanted to see if wells and jackson would both step up and while that hasnt happened, but the biggest mistake was trading marcus smart. even though hes been injured much of the season and not playing his best ball he was a positive when he was on the court and you traded a positive and got back nothing that can help you right now.

obviously injuries are their biggest issue with morant missing a bunch of games and clarke now out for the season but smart at least gave them so cover and they probably wouldnt be at risk of falling past 5 with him still around.

I like the Dallas Role players, they have everything a team needs. Shooters, wings, bench scorers, perimeter defenders.

I wonder if they could get KD without giving up most of their depth.
