It’s probably Tatum/white and the Maine Celtics vs the World tonight. Hospital Cs in the cut.
I have seen some people argue that OKC’s “tanking” prior to getting good recently was as shameless if not more than the “process” but they didn’t get the same national media backlash as the 76ers.
I would say having a SGA is the difference. Imagine if Philly had an SGA with young Embiid and Simmons and Butler. Their Embiid is Chet and he stays hurt and they are cruising to their 2nd straight #1 seed. They have done better with their picks and still got more to come.I definitely remember posting 4-5 years ago that SGA was gonna get frustrated with the OKC tank job.
I'd say the big difference between PHI and OKC (so far) is Shai stayed healthy and Embiid didn't, plus SGA doesn't seem to be with the sketchy ish. It's been such a long time that ppl forget that Embiid and Simmons weren't always hated. Bball world was kinda high on them after 2018, but it was always some BS every year with injures or weird playoff moments.. like Joel's "stomach flu" vs the Raptors or Simmons scared to score on Trae, or just no-showing vs Boston despite Harden winning him 2 games.
OKC is sorta where PHI was in 2019... making their first serious playoff run after being in everyone's good graces following a good showing in their first playoff as a core the year before. Butler and Tobias Harris were PHI's key additions, whereas PHI got Hartenstein and Caruso.
Relative to other NBA players, LeBron James has enjoyed tremendous fortune throughout his 22-year career. He has won four championships for three different franchises. He has remained sufficiently healthy through more than two decades to set league records for career points and minutes. He has shared the court with a number of all-time greats, and he even lucked into landing reigning scoring champ Luka Doncic as his latest legendary co-star.@Skooby when you have some time can you post this? Thank you
