27-year old wing that averages 20/5/5 on a short term deal that will eventually won't even be a top-50 salary

Ya fools think every trade or signing is terrible:mjlol:

Signing is decent and could wind up having great value if he bounces back with a team that has a capable medical/training staff...

they're 20 games under 500 like they were last year when they traded for another middle of the road wing

what is their plan

Theyre tanking for a top 5 pick lol.
They havent been healthy all season...Quickley has played 10 games.

They traded Anunoby cuz they didnt wanna pay him a max they didnt acquire Barrett because theyre were targeting him they aimed to get value for a guy who was leaving in FA and had no interest in paying.....tell the whole story B.

so why give up a pick to get another wing when you already traded for one (RJ) and drafted (Gradey)?

a lot of teams are smoked by injuries too but like.... i don't even get what they're going for in toronto fr

I get it the Raptors aren’t a destination so they almost always have to overpay but between Ingram, Barnes, Quickley & Barrett they have a lot of money tied up in a core that haven’t proven they can even be play in fodder :hubie:

The pick is gonna be in the 20s...theyre gambling Ingram will bounce back next year and be more valuable than that pick...
They drafted Gradey whos not proven yet he can be a starter...You dont NOT make moves to improve ur team because of year 2 Gradey dikk lol.

Theyre banking with a healthy team and a top 5 pick they can be a playoff team....They have contracts here that they can move and pivot from if it doesnt work, this is basically a 2 year team...the hyperbole in here is funny. If it isnt working they can easily get off 3 of these contracts next year or summer 2026.

They havent proven anything because theyre main guys cant stay healthy you have nikkas in here disingenously quoting ORtg where Davion Mitchell Gradey dikk Ochai Agbaji have started in 60 % of the games....

I’m not saying the contracts are unmovable. All I’m saying is it feels like they’ve invested a lot of money to a very unproven core. Obviously if y’all get a Flagg or Harper in the draft and they live up to the hype that changes things, but if I’m paying in the ballpark of $150-$160 million a year for my starting 5 I would hope to have a higher ceiling than a 7th seed

Theyre gambling on a team in the short term i dont think theyre invested in this as much you wanna think...They wanna be competitive but with the ability to pivot if it dont work.Theres far worse situations in the league of overpaid teams going nowhere that think theyre contending lol.

Its more than just the '25 pick theyre also banking on internal growth (Barnes, dikk etc)
