I still dont understand why the playin tournament is setup in the format that its in.
It makes more sense if the 7 plays the 10 and the 8 plays the 9.
If the 7 and 8 win, then 9 and 10 are eliminated and the 8 then plays AT the 7 for the right to take their seed.
If the 9 and 10 win, then they have to play the same team again on the road and if they win they take their respective spot(s) and if they lose they're out The 7 and 8 are in the playoffs so you have to win on the road twice to take theiir spot.
If the 8 beats the 9 and the 10 beats the 7 then the 8 becomes the 7th seed and the 10 plays at the 7 for the right to be the 8th seed.
If the 9 beats the 8 and the 7 beats the 10, the 10 is eliminated the 7 stays the 8 and the 9 then has to beat the 8 on the road again in order to be the 8th seed

That’s too many parameters
Winner of 7/8 gets the 7th seed, loser of that game plays the winner of 9/10 for the 8th seed
That’s simple.
Only change is they should’ve kept the rule from the bubble where 9th and 10th seeds had to be a certain amount of games back to trigger it.
To me you're penalizing a team (8th seed) thats already in the playoffs. If you want that spot then you gotta beat then twice in order to swoop their spot
Honestly if you cant be the 8th spot in 82 games you dont deserve to be in the playoffs. 4 real 4 real
If you as an 8th seed can't beat a 9th or 10 position team... You don't deserve to be in the playoffs
