Jalen Green in March is unreal. I don’t know what makes this month special for him, but it’s his best month in his career. 46% from the field, almost 40 from 3, and his scoring is above his career average. He might be able to carry us back to .500 this month

This is what I don’t get. Where are you getting AD is unmotivated? It’s not as if we got him the ball consistently & said put up 20+ shots.
He’s tasked with manning the paint also. Jokic had several plays where he point blank refused to box out & gave up several rebounds. Was he unmotivated?
AD lack of impact offensively isn’t due to motivation. He just isn’t that type of player. We’re too far in his career to think otherwise.
Yea, AD isn’t an active initiator of offense/point of attack player like Jokic, Embiid, Giannis. At times he prefers to cook more as a Clint Capella pick n roll beneficiary guy. But this style requires more patience and coordinated effort by teammates to get the ball to him vs smarter defenses.
I.e. If the defense takes away the initial lob and then fronts him on the turn/seal, will someone flash to the middle to receive the swing pass and throw a 2nd lob attempt to him? That’s multiple efforts that LAL doesn’t always have the patience to execute for a whole game.
End result is he’ll have a half where he looks unstoppable/totally engaged, then a 2nd half or fourth quarter where he’s invisible.
