Yup. No reason to buy into the hype again. I like their team and their coach but in the finals (both conference and NBA) you need an A+ guy. Booker is A level player, CP0 is a B+ at best at this point. Unless you’re THAT dominant as a team which I don’t believe them to be.
If Kawhi plays last year, Suns don’t make it. Giannis showed them what an A+ star looks like in the finals. When the game slows and you need a bucket, Book is good but he’s not Giannis, KD, Kyrie, Steph, etc. level. Which is no slight as they’re generational talents.

No. The previous Suns management only knew how to tank. James Jones took over, hired Monty Williams, and surrounded Booker with real NBA players.
The first year with new management, Ayton was supended 25 games and the pandemic hit so it took a while for them to get their chemistry at first. When they came back for the bubble, they started rolling and haven't looked back since.

Ppl can try to undermine Morant by saying his team is still winning without him... but all that really signifies is how potent of a title contender they've become. It's not like any of the other West teams aside from Phoenix has anyone trembling, so MEM has as good a chance of making it to the WCFs as the rest of the field.
In truth, anything more than a 2nd round appearance is just icing on the cake. They got the upcoming draft picks to possibly package for a major move this summer... to improve on whatever may fail them in their upcoming playoff run. They're in a great position honestly. Just as long as Ja's knee doesn't become a thing.
