The roster is a mess. I keep telling people that last year's team was constructed better. Marks has to own this. They really miss Landry Shamet right now and those words should never be uttered. That's how badly he botched the retool. When they traded Dinwiddie, they needed to get a piece back.

Little doubling down. This where you need an enforcer to protect your stars.

Why didn't they keep Dinwiddie again?

A lot of contending teams still don't realize the value of 2nd round picks, so I'm not necessarily going to give the Nets criticism for realizing it as well. Even GS didn't realize it as well until they had no other choice but to when they didn't have KD and Klay.

i expected them to beat the wildly undermanned blazers. especially with Kyrie and KD playing 40+ mins

Nash is a trash coach. He's pretty much Scott Brooks. No offensive system, just relying on Star Power and isos
KD grew tired of the Warriors' system in Year 2, and he even went as far as going rogue during the playoffs (nearly costing them a WCF series in the process). Harden dominated the ball more than any other player whilst he was in Houston; those squads functioned primarily on his ISO. And Kyrie's style of play speaks for itself. On top of managing all their volatile temperaments, which presents an entirely different juggling act. This is to go along with the majority of their support cast being made up of journeymen, who either have one-foot in the grave or are one-dimensional role players.

There's no "offensive system" that Nash can run that's going to keep everyone happy, while simultaneously put them in the best possible position of winning.
