The Grizzlies offense is looking amazing; they're all playmaking for one another. I guess the blessing they can take out of Ja's injury is they can learn to step up whilst he's out, and be better for it when he does return.
91 DRTG over the five games without Ja (#1 defense in the league, by a considerable margin)
116 DRTG over the previous games with Ja (#30 defense in the league, again, by a considerable margin).

They went from being the worst defensive team in the league with Ja, to the best, without him. Whatever they've got going on now, they've gottta bottle it up for when he returns. GS, Phoenix and Utah have the top-3 seeds locked up, so that fourth spot is gonna be up for grabs.

So Grizz are a better defensive team without Ja and a better offensive team with him? For now but something gotta give

IMO this would be the case with a lot of the ball dominant box score piling types in the league. The issue is in tight games against good teams can you do it without the "star" player.

Sixers need to make a move and trade Ben Simmons right now, not the next season. Took the overtine to beat Hornets without their best players and Embiid giving everything he got will be too damn tired for the playoffs + his injury history.
Its like watching doc rivers clippers. Bustin they ass in regular season and too tired for the 4th quarter in playoff games

116 ORTG without him
109 ORTG with him.

They've had a better offense without him too. They've been better on both ends.

The sample size of five games is far too small to take anything meaningful out of it, but one thing is for sure, they're a considerably better defensive squad than they showed when Ja was playing. I put that down to the fact that this period galvanized them, forcing them to fight for one another because their leader is out, which typically happens when a star player is out - they either all step up and play harder as a collective, or they sink.

If they can apply this defensive effort in combination with Ja's transcendence on offense, they just might have something in a year or two.

Ja is just gonna have to step up and improve on his defense as well same as Dame in Portland as Simmons wouldn't help completely mask his deficiencies on that end. Just be average enough and not a be a complete liability on the floor.

Your jokes don't quite hit the same when the Lakers are losing. Let's hope for your sake they start winning soon. It'd be a shame if we had to check you and your team into the Larry Holmes Gardens, together.

Watched that Cavs-Jazz game from a couple days ago. Cavs is really a fun team to watch, they play hard and with energy.

They should get a deal done before the deadline. They can't waste another year of Embiid's prime.
