There are better ways to make money than investing 3k on the Nets, given all the variables that'll need to go their way to win; the risk isn't worth the reward. I can't believe somebody would be stupid enough to bet on them at the start of the season given the situation around Kyrie.

Win or lose, putting 3k on the Nets is a square move; betting on a favorite when the conditions aren't suited for them to win is a sure-fire way to lose in the long run. You should be finding value when betting on futures on hoops, given how volatile everything can be over the course of the season and playoffs, that way it'll mitigate the risk, and you most definitely don't throw your entire bankroll on it.
