It'd be one thing if he just put up better numbers, but he straight up replaced Hayward's impact and helped the team transition faster.I have no idea why Mitch's future is even being talked about though. Dude unfukked the cap situation we were in, found value out of each of the second picks he traded for along with drafting well, and has been honest about the team overachieving since last year. He's probably one of the best GMs in the league since he's started here. Stretching Batum's contract was the worst thing he's done but if that was the cost of getting rid of him then it was worth it too.
20/7/4 at 24 years old, finally getting to the free throw line regularly and even got his TO% under control - also everyone gives Mikal props for not missing a game, but Miles is literally #2 at minutes played this year. If we had a center to play behind him, his defensive stats would be even better too.
He's done everything you could reasonably ask him to do. How do you not max him?

Miles getting a max makes more sense than Lavine and Shai's deals both at the time they signed on. And if he hit the market, he'd get offered the max from other teams anyways. This ain't some Mike Conley situation where we have to pay the guy for his value to Charlotte explicitly.
