They deserved to get shyt on for the trade and rightfully so as they already had Dame, CJ and Simons on the roster so there was no need to bring in another smaller guard. Them bringing Powell in essentially admitted that they lost faith in Simons being what they needed. Unfortunately for them, emerged a year essentially making the trade for Powell useless.

Powell was never a bad player and Portland was stupid giving him away for free just to clear up cap space when they could have gotten more.
