dog ive been saying that for years and havent even seen a playback
people talk about it and ive always been confused
Lue was out there putting it all on the line and really playing great basketball
To be fair, 10 years from now nobody is going to remember Matthew Dellavedova in the 2015 Finals either.. even tho his hounding defense was partly why Steph didn't look noteworthy, which ultimately led to Iggy getting Finals MVP

In regards to Ty Lue, i'm sure Mike Penberthy stays looking back like "i could've been the Delly of that '01 team, Phil :mjcry:. Why'd you cut me for Tyronn? :mjcry:"

@2Quik4UHoes how come all i remember about the 01 lakers reg season was how heart broken that white boy was when he didn't make the playoff roster? and then i google him just now and see that was pretty much the end of his chapter :dead:

edit- but he's an assistant coach for yall now in 2019 :dahell: See this that bullshyt Avery Bradley was talkin about
Need more empowered blacks in the front-office so that bum ass nyggas like kareem rush can get these gift jobs for their 2 years of service with a team

Who? Mark Madsen? That’s the only goofy whiteboy from that era that I can think of that’d cry over a roster spot.

He’s been an assistant coach on the Lakers for awhile now. I think at least since Luke was coach.

Hahaha not that one.

Mike Penberthy. a shorter less athletic alex caruso who was undrafted and driving fork lifts before the lakers picked him up in '01 as a 26 year old rookie pg. Long story shorter, the playoff roster came down to him, Isiah Rider, or Tyronn Lue, and Phil picked Tyronn... the rest is history as far as the Lakers, but the national media had cac tears for Penberthy's dream of being relevant coming to an end.

His nba career was about 50 games, all with the Lakers before they bushed him.. But 18 years later, he got an assistant coaching gig :dead:

Mark Madsen was a t least a good enough towel waiver and awkward dancer to keep a roster spot.

LeBron James won't wear social justice jersey

LeBron James said Saturday that he won’t wear a social justice jersey when the National Basketball Association (NBA) returns later this month.

The Los Angeles Lakers basketball star said during a conference call from Florida that his thoughts cannot be contained on the back of a jersey,

“It was no disrespect to the list that was handed down to all the players,” James said. “I commend anyone that decides to put something on the back of their jersey. It’s just something that didn’t seriously resonate with my mission, with my goal.”

The NBA is recognizing the recent pushes for social and racial justice by allowing each player to choose from a list a message to put on the back of their jersey. James is one of a few who declined to decide on a saying from the list, he said.

“I would have loved to have a say-so on what would have went on the back of my jersey,” James said. “I had a couple of things in mind, but I wasn’t part of that process, which is OK.”

“Everything that I do has a purpose, has a meaning. I don’t need to have something on the back of my jersey for people to understand my mission or know what I’m about and what I’m here to do,” he added.

James also said he never considered not playing due to the coronavirus pandemic, saying he believes the NBA and its commissioner “took all precautionary reasons, measures to make sure that we as a league are as safe as we can be.”

“Obviously, in anything that you do, there can be things that can happen, but we will cross that line ... if it happens,” he said.

JaVale McGee, the Lakers’ veteran center, said his jersey will display the phrase “Respect Us,” saying, “It’s a blessing to have this platform.”

“This is the biggest platform we can speak about social injustices,” McGee said, the Associated Press reported. “That’s the best time to talk about it.”

The NBA will resume games on July 30 at Walt Disney World in Orlando.

Calls for social and racial justice increased after the death of George Floyd, a Black man, in Minneapolis police custody.
