Houston and other contenders fukked up by not realizing the value of 2nd round picks. Cheap productive players are paramount for teams that are capped out with max contracts.

They went all in on "small ball" and unlike GSW they don't have a 7 foot wing and defenders on the level of Klay, Iggy, Draymond AND they are doing it all the time. All that to say, there is gonna be variance. When they are on, they will be able to beat anyone. When they aren't they will be able to lose to anyone. They are basically playing baseball while everyone else is playing basketball. Even the best baseball players are gonna have 0-10, 3-20 type stretches and there is no telling when they will happen. When you rely that heavily on the 3 and eschew size completely you are setting yourself up for that level of variance.

I just think it's really fukking tiring trying to play such a hectic defensive style to make up for having no big men. That shyt wears on the legs which then will carry over to the jump shots not being as consistent.

My thing with them though is if the 3pt shot isn’t falling, then why not try and switch up your style to get a basket. They keep trying and trying even when the shyt isn’t working till the point that they end up too hard behind where they have no other choice but attempt 3’s to catch up.
