BEcause theyre not guaranteed to be in the finals because of there regular season record,i never said they choked...

yea but the way some on here are talking about them it's like they have to worry about multiple teams in the East, when it's only Philly I can really see beating them in a 7 game series in the East.

Mavs clearly won the trade
Did they really? He’s a 3rd option on a legitimate contending team at his best but he’s making max money. The Knicks would be stuck in the middle with him instead of bottoming out like they are now.

He’s a 7’3 shooting guard who can’t post or get 10 rebounds a game. Good riddance.

Honestly no team won.

Knicks could of swindled another team and got possibly better assets but they ended up getting trash players and trash draft picks since mavs will be finishing top 10 record wise. Imagine if the knicks gave him a max contract for 16pts a game, the media and fans would by shytting on the knicks. So we definitely got away with that

Mavs got an injury prone weak player with no heart, a 7’3 guard who can’t play with his back to the rim. And now are paying him max contract and he’ll be hard to move if it came to it. But they didn’t give shyt up to get him.

A 3rd option making $30+ million, can’t stay healthy and won’t help you in the playoffs <<<< top 3 lottery picks. Better off hitting the basement than building around a unicorn with no horn

Yeah he's a rim protector and one of the best defensive bigs in the league. He also has unlimited range. He's gonna find his groove in Dallas. He's putting up 17 and 9 his career averages before the acl tear. On top of all of that he's was out 18 month.

How is that not a win?

Now explain how New York won the trade? I'll wait

They chose to give him the extension after the fact were talking about the trade itself no question Dallas won the trade...

Basically. He's underperforming but playing well enough. Honestly if they still had him they mightve had Kyrie and KD instead.

None of this matters if RJ Barrett becomes an all-star caliber player in a few years though. I think he'll get there.
