Jonathon Simmons believes he can be an elite player in the league and that mindset forced him to say no to LeBron James when the 4-time MVP attempted to bring him to Cleveland.
“I even talked to LeBron James over the phone, and he was like, ‘We want you in Cleveland.’ And I said, ‘No, I want to play against you.’ I want to be able to play against elite guys and be able to, in a couple of years down the line, be just where they are,”Simmons said (via Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel).
Salary also played a role in turning down the opportunity to join the defending Eastern Conference champs. “It wasn’t enough money, anyway. I have a family. I expressed that to him, which he kind of already knew. He said, ‘I respect that and I’ll see you soon,’” he added.

Damn nikka let me do me. Why you feel a certain type of way cause of how I feel about this shyt? Cause I could care less what the fukk y’all got going on. Do you. And no, I’m not watching football. I haven’t watched alll year. I’m boycotting that shyt. And surprisingly, nobody is even think about that shyt. My cuz brought the Xbox and we are on 2k. We though some fam might come in my grandmas living room trying to watch the game, but they ain’t thinking bout that shyt. You nikkas don’t even know what the fukk you talking about. Also, no, I’m not eating no punk ass turkey. I don’t eat turkey. I only eat fish and chicken. My aunts got some salmon in the oven for me. I am chopping it up with fam. Also, get off my dikk.
