I don't think I've ever been this impressed with a 19 year olds perimeter defense, definitely looks like he's gonna be a mainstay on the all-defense team in the 2020s when he's got 10-15lbs extra on him and has learned the habits of other players.

:ohhh: I'm impressed...
Dude's obviously a high iq player. How's his shooting...
I need to see one of these videos for Caleb Swanigan

Yeah, he definitely has significant awareness to go with instincts on defense. And the fact that he's getting called for fouls because he's OVERZELOUS on fighting over/through screens is probably the only stupid foul from a young guy you like to see. I think he's still a little too excited on offense right now, he seems to recognize he's open, and then still try to find another guy to pass to for a beat before shooting. And he's not really trying to take it to weaker defenders yet off the bounce. But he's pushing the ball when he gets it, creating easy looks - and he through a 50 foot bounce pass last night that had me legit yelling out loud.

Meh :yeshrug:

He looks good on defense but I'm more worried about whether or not he's going to become a competent PG on the other end. The best defenders at the 1 still get lit up for 30+ points by the Currys, Westbrooks and Kyries of the world. :hubie:

I'm so happy all these tall white stretch bigs keep proving me wrong :blessed:

It's about to be a takeover of the caucasian persuasion :banderas:

He's been pretty impressive to in the way he moves, his rebounding and he's not a bad defender either (tho it needs WORK).

I didn't follow him in college but I thought he was a soft euro who could shoot.

He's also a big dude nh so I like his potential going forward developing as an all-around player that can also do it in the post as well as defend the post. We got one.

But we need another, and I'm hoping it's Porter or Bagley :feedme:

He looks good at running an offense, hasn't shown a willingness or ability to drive yet, but he's got good vision. The offense is going to be the question for him, the defense is shocking at how good he is at it so soon. Generally speaking, young perimeter players usually are terrible defensively to start out, so to see one that actually rotates well and gets the scheme like that is rare. He's going to get lit up because that's just the nature of the position, but the point of having a good defensive PG is that they don't get taken advantage of in mismatches.
