Last year it was the latter but now I think it’s the former. I think he’s a legit rotation guy.

You saw the way he was guarding boogie last night when he was locked. If he gonna bring that energy it’s hard to overlook his value defensively. Probably the only PF on a team that can guard bigs like boogie in the perimeter and post. I saw 3-4 other promising possessions against Blake. If he plays defense like this consistently I’d put him at the 5 in alot of lineups. Nance is too reluctant to shoot and it hurts the offense as you saw last night. Kuzma to me is a SF or should be cause he don’t really rebound, but we got Ingram so I think the lineup should be

Randle has looked good at the 5 this year...Nance shouldn’t be starting, he would benefit from the pace the 2nd unit plays with Clarkson, Hart, etc...

You trot that lineup out against certain teams and you're getting murdered, you don't retain a player because he's good at individual defense against 1 specific guy and against 28 other teams. The point of Nance at the 4 is for his team defense, he's a much better team defender than Randle.

Against the legit 7 footers you don't want to play Randle because they will sag off him and just play space like Dwight did to Thon tonight, he was literally like anytime Thon was more than 5 feet from the hoop. He's an old type of player in a new league, he provides no spacing, no high level defense and he's undersized if you play him at C.
