Steve Kerr named his son after his childhood friend, Nick Reynolds, a black man who became a serious activist after college and was murdered by American mercenary security forces in Botswana while trying to transport aid and food to a village of black Africans who'd been displaced by civil war and genocide. Which makes these cheap laughs kind of sad, really.
