The West has won 20 more games against the East. It was only close because Cousins, Kawhi, Butler, Millsap, Curry and Gobert missed all those damn games. The only comparable player to miss that many games in the East is Hayward. If Kawhi was playing, the Spurs legit would have won 12-15 more games.

Utah had a losing record against the East in the games that Gobert played.

Not to mention that half the players you named (Butler, Curry, Gobert) only missed 20-30 games.

And Hayward is the only star to miss time in the East? Does John Wall not exist any more? Porzingis? Or Kyrie, Love, IT, Embiid, and Whiteside? (Not to mention lesser teams getting ravaged like Detroit, Chicago, Orlando, or New Jersey's entire lineups.)
