Building for the title is all that matters, that is why @Miggs is constantly talking about the mysterious 3rd guy, he's not satisfied with just watching his team make the playoffs. That gets old after awhile, you see any excitement for the Grizzlies? People have soured on the Clippers, just making the playoffs and not having a shot to win it wears out fans after awhile.


Embiid brings excitement because he is elite on both sides of the ball, Okafor posted big numbers last year but he didn't pass the eye test like Joel does, he is a championship caliber talent if healthy and that is the reason people are excited in Philly. They have an elite talent that could be a top 5 player in the league, that is where the excitement stems from that. Those fans that would pick Lowry & DeRozan over getting Embiid don't know what they're doing, because right this second if the Raptors offered their backcourt for Embiid they'd hang up the phone laughing. You need an elite talent + all-star players, the Raptors have two all-stars neither of which are as good as LeBron, which is why he's the gate keeper in the East. The Buck, Knicks & Sixers have young players that represent that next "gate keeper" in the East.I also think the Knicks are making a mistake not finding younger players to pair with Kristaps

16-17 Cavs are far from unbeatable,they arent the Warriors...LeBron in his prime was beat many times by the Pistons,Celtics,Mavericks.
But now at 31 or 32 its unquestionable ? lol

You forget 2011 ? last years run hasnt erased those memories of him being beat when he was younger more athletic and with more help.
Just so happens contrary to your observations the East sucks and has for 4 years and has not really improved much which is why he has little competition...

The Cavs are not losing in the East without an injury to one of their starters, you're saying LeBron lost to teams with HOFers that were either went on to win the title, or were former champions. The 2011 LeBron is clearly gone, he's exorcised those demons to the point you have to go back 5, soon to be 6 years to talk about his failings. He has little competition because he's one of the 5 greatest players ever, and he's flanked by two all-stars on a team built around his talents. LeBron + 2 all-stars and a gang of role players is not losing in the East, period. The East stinks yet your team got pushed to 7 by the garbage ass Pacers?

Your point is that you think the Raptors can beat the Cavs, yall lost that series by an average of 15ppg last year, there's a wide gap between you and them. It will take an injury to close that gap.

The 2011 demons live on son regardless of titles,cuz they shouldnt have lost to that Mavs team with all that talent and it should be a reminder for posters like you....That one playoff season doesnt make a career or mean it carries over into the next season...

I think we also played badly in those 4 losses,so now we cant compete because of what happened in a 6 game series It dont take an injury,it takes an addition to our team...

Cousins moves the needle for us more than he would for the Celtics IMO...We have a better bench and have 2 all star players...

They have one and alot of role players...Cousins puts us right there with the Cavs,i dont think he makes the C's any better than 3rd.

Back to talking about this mystery 3rd player, where is he Miggs, you don't have more assets than the Celtics so whoever you may want they got first dibs.

And the Celtics with Cousins would have two all-stars and an elite perimeter defender that could keep Demar in check, meanwhile your squad would have to deal with Cousins having all the room in the world to operate.

To me it kind of signals more a belief in Noel than Oak. You figure Embiid would be playing the 5 with Oak.

Embiid/Noel just makes more sense, it allows Noel to be the help defender, and gives them elite interior defense.


I don't think they'd have him checking 4s, but Noel seems more likely to be able to do that anyway.
