Pretty much every great player before the straight from high school trend started up again in 95. He's actually around the same age that most rookies used to be when they came in.

I had really meant comparing him against this crop of rookies specifically but now you have me thinking of comparing him thus far against other superstar rookie seasons.

Who has had the best rookie season in the last 15 years? :jbhmm::jbhmm::jbhmm::jbhmm:

Good question. Of top I would say it's between Bron, Melo, KD, Lillard, Evans, or Towns.

Is it time to up the Paul George vs Jimmy Butler thread yet?

:deadrose: I was saying George back then too tbh but interested what people would say now
PG been underwhelming, still waiting for him to take that last step but I dunno

He lost some explosivness with that injury. Came bavk with the wet jumper but now people know he isn't taking all the way and just looking to pull up so they play him close..

Jimmy tho.. he's shooting crazy on threes but mid range twos he's actually been pretty bad so that regression shyt isn't necessarily true. Could go the other way too

Regression will kick in soon enough. :blessed:

I mean maybe, but what exactly is Butler doing that's so unsustainable? It's not like he's relying on crazy shooting percentages like how DeRozan was shooting 60% on mid-range jumpers or Wiggins shooting 55% from 3

42% from 3 & he has a 59% free throw rate atm. Highly doubt that's sustainable.

He's had two seasons where he shot 38% from 3, it'll probably go down from 42% but it's definitely plausible that he could hover around 40%.

His FT rate is definitely gonna go down from 59%, but considering he ranked top 10 in free throw attempts per game last year, I'd imagine he's still going to get to the line quite a bit this year, especially since it's something he emphasized in the offseason at wanting to do more.
