Then this perfectly explains why these same teams continue to suck no matter how many top 5 picks they have...you can't skip steps...you can't go from lottery team to title contender without losing in the 1st and 2nd round alot first...

Yeah but there's a difference between being a team with a future losing in the 1st-2nd round a couple times like the Warriors did with Curry & Klay, and being a veteran team who's shown they can't ascend to that next level to be legitimate contenders.

Well before the warriors lost in the early rounds a couple of times they were a very shytty team for a very long time...

So I mean yeah...if you want to take GS approach and just be bad for decades and then eventually you get lucky and get two of the greatest shooters every AND one of them has so many ankle problems you can sign him for cheap...giving you enough cap space to go get a top 5 nba player in KD...then...by all means...go for it...

The point was there's a difference between having a couple early playoff exits when you're a young team still growing, and being a perennial early round exit when you're a veteran team who have most likely peaked. Everything ain't equal.
