I stopped reading here

Ricky Rubio basically says shut the fukk up, a pass first PG that exemplifies everything you're talking about yet his teams are garbage because HE can't score or space the floor when needed.
:heh: So the wolves are garbage because of Ricky Rubio? Rubio proves that teams can't be successful with pass first point guards? This is what you call an argument? Dude, the point has already been settled. We've seen teams with pass first point guards dominate the league. I didn't say that every pass-first pg or every team with a pass first pg is going to dominate. I said that pass first point guards can still be successful in today's league in response to you and your buddy arguing that score-first volume shooting point guards Are essential in today's game. No, they aren't. You can build a contending team without a a point guard who looks to score first.

Teams moved away from pass first PGs for a reason, it's why Elfrid Payton has been benched for CJ fukking Watson, why Michael Carter Williams been passed around like a dutch and why Rondo's game got the :scust: face the last few years.
Now Elfrid Payton and Michael Carter Williams are supposed to be proof that you must have a shoot-first point guard? Both of those cats have holes in their game beyond shooting. Just mentioning point guards who can't shoot that aren't that good isn't an argument. I can go on and on naming shoot first point guards who suck leading teams that suck. Even good shoot first point guards are leading teams that suck. Look at Portland underachieving with 2 pass first volume shooting guards in their backcourt. They'd be better off with a real point guard to match with one of their volume shooters.

I've already explained why teams have moved more towards these shoot first combo guards playing point and that's because the game is played on the perimeter(on all levels) which is the opposite to how it used to be played. This is a spread the floor perimeter oriented small-ball game where the pick n roll is a staple of every team's offense. If that's the kind of team that you're trying to build then of course a guy who can shoot and score efficiently will be better for your system than one who can't.

You're clouding the issue tho because this is ultimately about saying that Kidd isn't as good as Lowry because Lowry can shoot better. That's ridiculous.

This is comical, the same dude that is trying to use Ish Smith to prove that pass first PGs can be successful has an issue with my pointing out the prototypical pass first PG in Rubio has failed. The Wolves tried to build around him and Kevin Love which is the point, nobody has said you can't have a pass first PG, we're saying building around them today isn't going to work, and you come back with Ish Smith :dead: Having some pass first rotational PG isn't the same as building a damn team around one today, what pass first PG "dominated" the league other than Magic, who was an anomaly because of his size. Matter of fact, show me a pass first PG that had a title team built around them in the last 20 years, you can't.

I didn't read the rest of your post, shyt was too long and just skimming it I don't see any names of successful teams built around pass first PGs today :yeshrug:

Can you/somebody explain that portion of the new CBA? Is it just harder for players to move or damn near impossible?

It's not hard or impossible...just unlikely. Home teams can offer way more money now. Nobody is gonna pass on 220 mil for 140 mil (not exact numbers but you get the idea).

Duncan got out when he could. He knew he had the benefit of getting all those weak bigs to go up against during the mid 2000's-2015. Lucky he wasn't around in this era otherwise his career would have been half as long while he got exposed every night. :wow:

Jokic putting up 20/20/20 on him, Embiid dropping 60 on him, Green holding him to 0-10 shooting. :wow:

low quality posting :scusthov:

Just stop :scust:

A prime Duncan would be averaging 30 and 20 in today's soft ass league
