Question to the masses:

what non playoff teams right now outside of Brooklyn for obvious reasons should be doing what they can to compete? I ask only because judging by the Coli, 20 teams should be tryna tank for Fultz or Ball

Denver??? Minnesota???

Compete for what? Durant ruined the competition and there is nothing to compete for at the very least this season and next season and I'm serious with that. Cavs don't look up to par and none of these other teams are close, so ya, teams should be building for what's next, not towards the immediate future.

Does that mean every team should tank? No, but that also means they shouldn't lock themselves up trying to compete now and end up with a capped out team that will be awful within a few years(like what will likely happen to the Raps).

a playoff spot.

I didn't say anything in regards to trades, free agents, etc. I'm just basing it off the teams as constructed.

Minnesota(although I think they need a point guard from this point guard heavy draft or at the very least some damn bench depth)/Magic/Denver/Hornets/Blazers should all be trying to get playoff spots imo.

The 76ers could of technically competed and not be too worried considering the pick swap with Sac. The Embiid injury kinda fked all that up though so it's back to the fking tank.

trying to win games as opposed to packing it in like some people suggest for a bunch of teams.

It's a tricky subject. Dallas, New York & New Orleans immediately stand out as teams who I think would be much better off getting a high lottery pick than getting a 1st round sweep.

I think Portland has invested far too much money into this team to not try to win-now. Sacramento has been out of the playoffs for so long I don't blame them. I still think Charlotte has a playoff caliber squad as is, just haven't played to their potential.

Teams like Philly, Minnesota, Milwaukee, Phoenix I think it wouldn't be a bad thing if they made the playoffs, but they also shouldn't make short-sighted moves in the name of trying to win now.

Really don't know what to make of Orlando. Lakers have the pick-protection aspect working against them.

As far as Miami, I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing that they're on this winning streak. It's just that like someone else said, if they were to make the playoffs you would hope that they did it off the backs of the guys who are apart of their younger core, and not vets who realistically might not be on the team at this time next year.

Kings, Sixers, Pelicans, Wolves, Bucks, Knicks(unless they trade melo)

Some of them are too far behind though.
