Aside from the Nets, are the Magic the most underwhelming team to be a fan of at the moment?

They're trash every year, player development has been subpar, the two most hyped prospects they have are Gordon & Hezonja: they're playing Gordon out of position to appease a veteran PF that likely won't be on the roster in a year while Hezonja is firmly in the doghouse. Payton to me seems like he'll be a good backup but as the starting PG of the future I don't see it.

It's amazing how they missed the playoffs the same amount of years consecutively as the Sixers & Jazz but yet are so far behind them in the rebuild

what I was saying in the MLK game thread

when Steph is putting just a good game which idk is like a modest 22 points and 7 assist they can beat a team by just 10-15points

have him putting up a game like 30pts + with 6 rebs and 8 assits and they blowing a team out by like 20-25 pts and more.

He didn't shoot well % wise on MLK game against Cavs but him putting 22 points and double digit assits had them beating Cavs by like 30 points

this teams dominance on elite teams and any other is dependent on him

A 2x MVP being the x-factor

Must be nice :francis:

Expected Bron and Isaiah to be up there. Thought Lowry would be slightly higher. Wiggins being on par with Durant is surprising. Kyrie being so low is a worthwhile reminder I can't always trust my eyes, because I would've guessed way higher. Reggie Jackson is appalling.

How is "clutch" qualified here?

Bucks trade Miles Plumlee to Hornets in swap of veteran backup centers

Why Charlotte made this trade

That’s a good question. Save for the 2013-14 season with the Phoenix Suns, Plumlee has not been a consistent player in a team’s rotation in his career. He’s shown flashes of being a solid shot-blocking center, but he’s failed to sustain those efforts for long stretches of time. He’s already 28 and just signed a big contract that’ll stay on Charlotte’s books through the 2019-20 season.

But Charlotte has been seeking a defensive upgrade at the position with Cody Zeller dealing with injuries and the rest of the bench struggling to stop anyone. Hibbert was supposed to be that player, but he’s proven to be too slow for the modern game. The Hornets allow 105.2 points per 100 possessions with Hibbert in the game. Hawes, meanwhile, is one of the worst defensive big men in the league.

Plumlee is more mobile than both and could achieve some consistency under the tutelage of head coach Steve Clifford and assistant coach Patrick Ewing.

Why Milwaukee made this trade

It’s a salary dump, plain and simple. Re-signing Plumlee was one of the worst decisions a team made last summer. Moving on in exchange for Hibbert (expiring contract) and Hawes (who could opt out, but will likely pick up his player option) saves the Bucks more than $6 million next year and $12.4 million the next two seasons.

Both players may find minutes in Kidd’s center roulette, but this move wasn’t made for on-court reasons.
